First foray around Shanghai

We're staying in the Jing'An District of Shanghai. This is a dizzying large city of 23 million people, so for the first part of our stay, we'll limit ourselves to this giant neighborhood.

So, today was the day to get our bearings straight. Walked around the 2 main features of this area: Jing'An Park and Nanjing West shopping street.

The park is large, well kept, and fairly quiet. Looking forward to further exploring, especially the giant temple that sits in the park.

Nanking Street is a massive lane of every store you can imagine. Nearly 5 miles of malls, restaurants, shops, and more.

We avoided the rain and found the best yet: the famous Shanghai soup dumplings. Essentially a pork dumpling with the soup broth on the inside. Inside out dumpling soup. Coupled with a side of spicy cucumber and fried anchovies, a perfect lunch.

More tomorrow...
