Leg 19 transport complete, plus a geography lesson

Leg 19 train ride is done, a mere 85 miles to add to the total that now stands at 19400 miles.  The train was fun, passing through some fantastic scenery along the mountainous coast of central Vietnam.  That, and the giant bugs that crawled around kept our attention.  Lisa saw out of the corner of her eye a palm sized shadow running towards her.  The person sitting across from us had no shoes on and she saw the same bug and jumped out of her seat.  We just laughed for the next 15 minutes.  All the bugs here seem to be about as big as your hand.

Now for the geography.

Hoi An is the farthest southern point on this trip and sits about 15 degrees north of the equator.

The farthest northern point was Nordkapp, Norway, a stop along the way while on the MS Polarlys.  Nordkapp is 71 degrees north of the equator and sits above the Arctic Circle.

The distance between the northernmost and southernmost points on this trip is 5015 miles, although we traveled quite a bit more than that to reach our current location.

The beach and the pool will constitute the majority of our time while in Hoi An.
