The perfect french fry

We've spent the better part of the last 25 years finding the perfect french fry.

4 exist in the USA: Checkers (Madison, OH), Antoine's (New Orleans), Juicy's (Reno), Il Pollaio (San Francisco).

Sorry Chicago, McDonald's rejects won't cut it (I know of a couple places that brag that they serve these). Props though to Hot Doug's-- he's close.

Add to the list: Geale's in Nottingham Hill, London. Virtually greaseless, perfectly crispy, not too salty, perfect real mayo.

Anthony Bourdain thought he had the best fries at Le Halles, until he went to Thomas Kemper's place in Las Vegas. One of the few moments on his show No Reservations where you feel a little sorry for him.
